In 1942, as the free world crumbled beneath Hitler’s jackboot, Churchill’s Secret Army began recruiting women spies to infiltrate Occupied France and become part of the French Resistance.
Join Kit Sergeant, author of The Spark of Resistance, for this multimedia presentation, exploring the adventures of some of the SOE’s unimaginably brave women. Copies of the book will be available for purchase. Giveaways include stickers and bookmarks.
Kit Sergeant is the author of eight historical fiction novels that shine a light on courageous, real-life women who risked everything to shape history—especially those who served as spies during World War II. She is a science teacher at St. Charles North High School, where she strives to ignite curiosity in the classroom just as she does through her books and presentations. She is also a member of the Chicago Writers Association Speaker's Bureau.
