Quantum physicist and poet G. Jordan Maclay will share some oddities of modern science, astrophysical and quantum, including lava tubes on Mars and the paradoxical behavior of electrons.
Some of the interesting oddities of modern science will be shared, including observations of volcanoes and lave tubes on Mars, the unusual behavior of very small particles as both waves and particles; the rings of Saturn and the liquid methane lakes on Titan; and finally the remarkable properties of strawberries.
Prof. G. Jordan Maclay is a quantum physicist and a poet. He had a Post Doctoral Appointment at Argonne and Fermilab. He taught and did research at UIC for two decades.
