An online book club to discuss the 2021 Lincoln Award books. Join us for one or all of the discussions. We are teaming up with St. Charles East High School to host online book discussions, but any high school student may attend regardless of school. Pick up a copy at the library, or St. Charles East students may request copies from the LRC.
A Heart in a Body in the World
"Each step in Annabelle’s 2,700-mile cross-country run brings her closer to facing a trauma from her past in National Book Award finalist Deb Caletti’s novel about the heart, all the ways it breaks, and its journey to healing. Because sometimes against our will, against all odds, we go forward."
The award is named for Abraham Lincoln, one of Illinois' most famous residents and himself an avid reader and noted author. The Association of Illinois School Library Educators (AISLE) sponsors the award. The Lincoln Award is designed to encourage teens to read for personal satisfaction and become familiar with authors of young adult and adult books.
All high school students that read at least four of the nominees and register by January 15 are welcome to vote online for their favorite February 15th– March 15th.
