Enjoy some stories, explore the outdoors at the Nature Center at LeRoy Oakes and learn how you can create beautiful things with nature! Each new video will feature a book, introduce a fun activity for you to do at home, and highlight the bi-weekly StoryWalk®. A StoryWalk® is a story you can read at the forest preserve while taking a walk!

In partnership with the Forest Preserve District of Kane County.

Make a Recycled Flower Pot! Participants may need assistance from an adult.

Click here for inspiration on ways to decorate your Recycled Flower Pot!

You will need:

  • Old container with some holes poked in the bottom (old milk carton, can, yogurt container, etc....be creative!)
  • Some craft supplies (paint, stickers, markers, glue, etc... What can you find around the house?!)
  • Potting soil
  • Flower seeds!

Click here for access to our Library YouTube Channel!

The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.
