The year 2019 marks the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci’s death.

Intended to commemorate this event, this slide lecture, presented by art historian Jeff Mishur, focuses on Leonardo's artistic innovations. By examining his works within the context of Italian art, this program explores the many ways Leonardo’s approach broke with conventions of his time and helped establish the legacy of the Italian Renaissance.
