In this class, art historian Jeff Mishur discusses Paul Cézanne's innovative approach to traditional subjects, including still life, landscape and the nude. https://us06web.zoom.us/j/83963175816
Together with his colleague Camille Pissarro and his dealer Amboise Vollard, Cézanne sought to challenge the conservative art world of late 19th century Paris. Eventually, he moved beyond Impressionism and inspired a new generation of modernists. The Art Institute of Chicago will host a Cézanne retrospective starting in May and running into September.
